Surface Swab – Visible Mould Identification

Surface Swab sampling is a simple way to collect visible mould from areas where a Tape Lift may be difficult or unsuitable. It is ideal for uneven, textured, curved or hard-to-reach surfaces where there is visible mould growth or discolouration.

The sample is taken directly from the affected area and analysed by the laboratory to identify the mould present, helping you understand exactly what is growing on the surface you are concerned about.

This test is designed for areas where visible mould or suspicious growth is present. If there is no visible mould, or you are trying to investigate possible hidden contamination, another testing method may be more appropriate.

For the best sample, swab directly across the visible growth using the instructions provided in your kit.

On receipt of your sample, Mould Lab will send it to the laboratory via FedEx Express, which typically takes 1–3 business days.

Once your sample has been received by the laboratory, analysis is normally completed the next business day.
